COVID-19 Shuttle Rider Guide

To continue UNM’s commitment to safety for all, UNM Parking & Transportation Services (PATS) has implemented the following guidelines and requirements for customers using the shuttle bus system:

  • On the large buses that have two (2) doors, passengers may only enter and exit through the rear doors. Variances to this requirement are as follows:
    1. Front-door access will be permitted only for passengers needing operator assistance to enter/exit the bus (or for the smaller shuttle buses with only one (1) door.
    2. When using the wheelchair lift.
    3. When waiting at a shuttle bus stop to board a bus, please form a single-file line and practice social distancing by remaining at least 6 feet apart.
  • Please be aware that in order to maintain proper social distances in the shuttle buses, and depending on the size of the bus, seating capacity is limited to 10 passengers or less with no standing allowed.
    1. Please be aware that if a shuttle bus goes by a shuttle bus stop without stopping to baord passengers, the bus may be at its capacity in regards to required social distancing standards.

  • You are required to wear a mask or face covering to board and ride a shuttle bus.
  • Maintain physical distance from your fellow passengers by avoiding sitting directly next or behind someone (see examples)
  • Each bus has been marked for easy identification of spacing.
  • Maintain physical distance from the bus driver if requesting information.
    1. Shuttle bus must be stopped at a bus stop.
    2. Do not go beyond the seats directly behind the driver.
  • Seating:
    1. RED "X" on seat means that it is closed.
    2. In open seat, passenger must sit by window.
    3. One passenger per open seat.
